Team PWD AZ Goes to the Southern California Water Trial
September, 2003
Team PWD AZ had a number of entries at the Southern California PWD Club's 2003 Water Trial. The following
photos are courtesy of Tim Rollins, Janis Watts and Jessica Carlson (professional photographer who will be
at our November trials--look for her!).
First up in Apprentice Class on Saturday was Elvas (Deerpark Rei Elvas Aquatico), here waiting for
his recall after the boat ride:

A great weekend for Lolita! Entered in Apprentice and successfully completed all exercises.
Moved up to Working Water dog level on Sunday, completed all exercises and now proudly carries the
WWD title!

Courier level:
An enthusiastic jump from the boat to go out and retrieve the net and return:
Successful in 4 out of 5 exercises, but failing to get the Courier title,
LidaRose gives judge Chuck Robinson a kiss, just in case they meet again sometime
at a future water trial:
Timbers (Amarinhar Shiver Me Timbers) executes a flawless gear bag retrieve in the WWD Class:

Amarinhar Shiver Me Timbers, AWD (Almost Working Dog). Although in a retriever trim, note his "lion
cut" waistline, similar to his paternal grandfather's picture on the cover of The New Complete
Portuguese Water Dog (Ch. Timbermist Lancar Flor de Mar):
Although too young to enter, but still wildly interested, Loni Legado spent her spare time
practicing the dummy retrieve in preparation for our club's water trial in November! :
Chili Pepper (Chili Pepper Aquatico) warms up for JWD level on Sunday:
Chili retrieves the dummy:
Elvas (l) passed the Apprentice exercises both days; Chili Pepper (r) becomes the first
rescued PWD with ILP registration to earn a water title. Sunday's judge, Lauren McDermott, poses
with Chili, Elvas and happy handler (and proud "mom"), Stephanie Rollins:
