Rio Salgado Portuguese Water Dog Club

The Arizona PWD Connection!

Here's the link to the "photos of recent activities" page

Geographically based in Phoenix, RSPWDC is a Portuguese Water Dog Club for the entire state of Arizona. Members reside in Tucson, Flagstaff, Payson, Winslow and many other cities and towns in the State. In addition to our Arizona members we have many from surrounding states of New Mexico, California and Nevada.

The membership is a diverse group and represents family (pet) owners, owner-handlers, agility & obedience enthusiasts, water trial devotees and breeders. The common thread among the membership is the insatiable love of the Portuguese Water Dog and the desire to enjoy and have good times with their dogs whether it be in the show ring, doing agility, water work, going to a club picnics or just hanging out with “the pack”.

Club meetings are held every other month in the Phoenix area. Once a year the club sponsors a “Spring Thing” at a local dog show, and, in 2003, we began having Water Trials. During the year the club also sponsors several events for the enjoyment of the members and their PWDs. These include hiking with your PWD, a day at the lake getting wet & wild, and our annual holiday party during the Christmas season. And, although not a club sponsored event, several of the members keep active during the hot summer months doing water training at local lakes.

Membership dues are $20 per member and $5 for each additional household member. Additional membership information, as well as a printable version of our membership application can be obtained by clicking “quick click info” on the left side of the screen.
